Continental’s continued growth provides career opportunities for three team members who have routinely accepted new challenges and exhibit strong leadership skills. We are pleased to announce the promotions of Eric Thom, Ashley Napoli and Heather Riggs to help lead us through a continued high pace of development and resulting operational functions.
Josh Gunn, Vice President of Human Resources and Chief Legal Officer, recently announced his retirement after 13 years with Continental. We are all grateful for the contributions Josh made to the company during his tenure and wish him the best in his new endeavors.
Jay Hirzel has been promoted to Property Manager at Springs at South Broadway in Rochester, Minnesota, where she has been acting as Assistant Property Manager for several months. She started with Continental at Springs at Estero in Florida, and was an integral part of that successful lease-up.
With five Springs communities in the San Antonio area, it is naturally a place where talent is germinated. Today I am pleased to announce two promotions within our San Antonio-area teams.
Kim Robb, Director of Property Management for Continental Properties recently visited Washington DC for the National Apartment Associations (NAA) annual advocacy day. This was a first for Kim, who accompanied a group from the San Antonio Apartment Association (SAAA), to which she was recently sworn in as a board member.
I am excited to announce three changes to our Kentucky and Ohio property management teams. Jessica Armstrong has moved to our new lease up, Springs at Liberty Township, near Cincinnati, Ohio. Jessica has been with Continental for 5 years. She started at Springs at Live Oak in the San Antonio area, then moved her family to West Des Moines, Iowa to finish up the lease up of Springs at Jordan Creek. In December 2013 she moved to Lexington, Kentucky to start up Springs at Winchester Road, and achieved stabilization with great success! In November she was honored as Continental Properties' 2015 Rich Bell Award winner, which recognizes the team member who most embodies Continental's core values. Since mid-2015 she has spent time helping at several Springs communities, most frequently at Springs at Fremaux Town Center in Slidell, Louisiana.
I would like to congratulate Lashana Brown on her move from Springs at Braden River in Bradenton, Florida to our new community in Sarasota, Springs at Bee Ridge. Lashana started with Continental Properties in February, 2015. She originally hails from Michigan, where she started her career. She has worked in traditional housing, student housing and even mobile homes. For the last few months she capably shepherded Springs at Memorial in Oklahoma City, including training a new Property Manager. Her experience with Continental, and managing a lease-up in a previous job, make her a perfect fit for Springs at Bee Ridge.
Kristen Beckwith has recently transitioned to the position of Multifamily Operations Coordinator. Kristen may be new to Continental's Home Office, but she is a familiar face at our Springs communities.
There is big news coming out of the Springs portfolio in Iowa!
As Continental grows, both numerically and geographically, it is becoming increasingly important for our company’s leadership to receive real-time feedback from employees throughout the entire organization. To achieve this we are implementing an innovative employee feedback tool – Loop. Powered by Workplace Dynamics, LLC, Loop is a system developed to facilitate and open the lines of communication between employees and the organization’s leadership – getting the right feedback to the right people at the right time.
