Continental Properties started the month of March with the addition of two new Springs communities to our growing portfolio.
Springs at Knapp's Crossing in Grand Rapids will be the first community we have built in the state of Michigan. We are confident about the opportunity in Grand Rapids due to strong job growth. The location in Grand Rapids Charter Township, northwest of the city, will provide 248 new homes. Just south of our community on East Beltline, there is plentiful shopping and dining for our future residents. Plus, the school district is one of the best in the state.
Springs at Juban Crossing will be Continental's fourth Springs community in Louisiana. Located in Denham Springs, an eastern suburb of Baton Rouge, this community will have 272 apartment homes. Springs residents will have easy commutes to downtown or LSU, and will also enjoy great shopping next door at Juban Crossings Shopping Center, which, when complete, will house 1.2 million square feet of retail and dining space. This metro area has also been performing very well for job growth and apartment fundamentals for several years.
Completing all of the tasks necessary for one closing is a major accomplishment. Congratulations to all involved in bringing these two new Springs projects to groundbreaking!
