This summer, Continental welcomed five ambitious interns into our BUILD Internship Program - each bringing new perspectives and leaving a lasting impact! From land planning to marketing and human resources, they dove into immersive projects, collaborated with cross-functional teams, and explored how their passions align with our mission to build thriving communities. Read on to learn more about their experience!

Connection & Belonging

“From the start, the team fostered a welcoming and collaborative environment, making me feel like a valued member of the organization. “ - Summer 2025 Marketing Intern

From day one, interns became part of the team through a variety of activities that allowed them to make connections across the organization:

  • Intern Orientation & Welcome Lunch kicked off the summer, giving interns a chance to connect as a cohort and learn about Continental’s culture and mission.
  • Intern Ambassador Networking Session connected the cohort with former interns who’ve transitioned into full-time team members. Over a fun DIY Trail Mix Bar and guided conversation game, the group shared career journeys, advice, and insights.
  • Continental’s “You Belong Here” Spotlight introduced each intern to the broader team, celebrating their unique backgrounds and interests.

PROFESSIONAL GROWTH & EXPLORATION

“My team guided me in learning new tasks that are relevant to my field, as well as supporting my professional development” - Summer 2025 HR Intern

Our program emphasizes hands-on learning, professional development, and exposure to various areas of our business including:

  • Strengths-Based Learning Session: During this workshop, interns discovered and learned how to leverage their natural strengths and talents professionally.
  • The Blueprint Program: A seven-week, insider’s look at Continental’s project lifecycle, with experts across departments sharing how their work connects to the bigger picture.
  • Community & Construction Site Tour: Interns visited our brand-new community, Springs at Meadowbrook in Waukesha, Wisconsin, for a guided site tour with team leaders. Observing the construction process and resident experience in action reinforced the tangible impact of their work.
  • Resume Workshop: Our Talent Acquisition team led interns through a resume workshop with individual reviews, helping them translate their skills and experience.

RREFLECTION & RECOGNITION

“Interns are empowered to take on real-world challenges, and ideas are welcomed from every level.” - Summer 2025 Market Research Intern

Throughout the summer, our interns were encouraged to reflect on their growth and celebrate their accomplishments:

  • Feedback & Mentorship: Structured check-ins and progress reviews gave interns personalized feedback, helping them recognize their progress, identify growth opportunities, and set goals.
  • National Intern Day Appreciation Breakfast: Continental celebrated our interns’ contributions over breakfast, reinforcing how valued their work and energy were throughout the summer.
  • End-of-Summer Presentations: Each intern wrapped up the summer by presenting to their teams - highlighting their project work, key accomplishments, and biggest takeaways. These moments not only built upon their confidence in public speaking but also allowed them to reflect and showcase the impact they made.

We’re grateful for our interns’ dedication and energy that contributed to a summer of success! We look forward to welcoming future cohorts who will help shape what’s next at Continental. Interested in joining us? Discover more about a career at Continental by visiting our careers page!
