Continental Announces Q2 2024 Value Ambassadors

Earlier this year, Continental launched the Values Peer Nomination Program, an exciting awards initiative designed to celebrate team members who exemplify our core Values through their words and actions. This program empowers our team to recognize colleagues who consistently demonstrate one or more of the following Values: 

  • Respect for the Individual 
  • Distinguished Character 
  • Achieving More Together 
  • Passion For All We Do 
  • Better Than Ever Before 

This program reflects our commitment to fostering a workplace where our shared Values are not just acknowledged, but actively lived and celebrated. Award recipients are chosen quarterly by a diverse, anonymous selection committee comprised of team members from different roles and backgrounds within the company.  

Those selected as recipients proudly hold the title of Continental's Value Ambassadors, serving as exemplary role models of our organizational culture.  

Continental recently announced our Q2 2024 Value Ambassadors to team members. Meet them below and discover the inspiring nominations submitted by their peers, highlighting their exceptional dedication to our shared Values.   

Better Than Ever Before 

Cassie Zurn, Senior Tax Manager


"Cassie consistently looks for opportunities to improve any projects where she is involved. Cassie recently prepared an overhaul of a key set of documents to more efficiently complete our work. The overhaul will save many hours each year as construction projects are completed and these documents need to be prepared for the new properties.

Cassie also updated the workpapers that the Tax Team provides to our tax preparers. This update helped us prepare them more quickly and will help with estimated workpapers in the future.

Cassie is also working on a project to better integrate our data into a centralized system, which will help complete quarterly work for the Tax Team and Accounting Team. This project will open up a lot of opportunities for the Tax Team to improve other processes due to the improved accessibility of detailed information.

Cassie has also taken on the role of Data Ambassador for the Tax Team. Cassie will make a strong addition to the Data Ambassador team and this role should help further her skills so she can continue to help Continental and the Tax Team continue to drive for continuous improvement." 

Passion For All We Do 

Tyler Carey, Maintenance Supervisor, Springs at South Elgin

Tyler is from Springs at South Elgin. The Springs at St. Charles pool and patio furniture was not out yet and still in storage. St. Charles was in a pinch with our only maintenance person out of the office for the week. Our Springs at St. Charles residents wanted to enjoy their new pool and grill area, but since we are a brand new property, all of our furniture was still in boxes and needed to be hauled over from our storage area. Tyler came to the rescue and helped myself and Devin O'Barr unload and unpackage all the patio furniture. Without Tyler helping us out for a few hours, this would've been a much harder task to tackle.

In this scenario, Tyler displayed 'Passion For All We Do' by prioritizing his work day at Springs at South Elgin so he could then head over and help us at Springs at St. Charles. He understood the company values and displayed the One Team mentality. At the end of the day, Continental is a brand. Tyler understood what brand Continental is trying to achieve and was so willing to drop what he was doing to help Springs at St. Charles uphold their end of the brand.
