7/3/2008

Continental Properties donated $20,709 to the American Cancer Society (ACS) during a check presentation ceremony held on Tuesday, July 1st at the company’s headquarters in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. The donation is a result of the fundraising activities initiated and led by Continental employees.

Over the past year Continental employees hosted fundraising activities and events to raise money and awareness for the American Cancer Society. Activities included monthly jeans days, lunches, an auction, a Brewers tailgate, and bake sales. Through these activities, employees raised a total of $10,210. Continental matched employee contributions dollar for dollar; raising the total to $20,420.

To culminate the year-long fundraising events, Continental employees participated in the ACS Sussex-Menomonee Falls Relay for Life walk-a-thon. ACS had a goal of $36,000 to raise for Relay, but Continental’s Relay teams helped them nearly double their goal by raising $70,000.

“I am proud of our employees’ time and commitment to raising money and awareness for ACS and their passion for supporting this cause. We know that the donation will allow ACS to continue the great work they are doing in educating the public and assisting patients and families who are afflicted with cancer. ”said Jim Schloemer, Continental’s Chairman and CEO.
